Money for Professional Development

There are several sources of funding available to pay for professional development. Consider the following:

  • Title II Part A - every public school district receives an allocation
  • Class Size Reduction funds (formerly Title VI) - these monies may be used for professional development in lieu of class size reduction
  • Carry-over money from 2003-04 Title II Part A funds
  • Your local education foundation
  • National Education Association and State Education Association mini-grants
  • IDEA and Title I funds
  • Reading First funds
